Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a high-acuity neuroscience medical/surgical unit. This position requires a dedicated professional to provide exceptional care for adult and geriatric patients, focusing on improving patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Shift Information

• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15)
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and competent nursing care to patients with various diagnoses, including stroke/TIA, seizures, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post-heart catheterization, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, congestive heart failure, and sepsis.
• Utilize the Omnicell medication system for accurate medication administration.
• Participate in patient care activities and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Float to other units based on staffing needs and skill set.

Patient Population

The unit provides care to adults and geriatric patients with a focus on neuroscience, accommodating both stroke/TIA and higher acuity medical-surgical cases.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and active RN license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• EPIC electronic health record experience required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this position.

This unit specializes in inpatient care for stroke and TIA patients and is equipped to handle high-acuity medical-surgical patients. The team is committed to enhancing patient experience and has the capability to perform peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.
