Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring TN or compact RN license and 1+ years of EPIC EMR experience, with night shift and weekend coverage required.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within an orthopedic unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 1845-0715
• Every other weekend coverage required (subject to change based on need)
• Floating required to like units based on skill set and demonstrated competencies
• Uses Omnicell medication system
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active TN RN license or multistate/compact license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Must complete an EKG exam and MS/Tele competency assessment
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, and gastrointestinal care including bowel obstruction and feeding tube management
• Preferred skills include accessing/managing ports, central line blood draws, PICC line management, blood product administration, bariatric surgery care, colostomy/ileostomy management, total joint replacement care, and peripheral nerve block catheter management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in an orthopedic unit with potential floating to Med/Surg Tele units based on census needs
• Prior teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Orientation occurs every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible for full travel pay; night shift candidates for this specialty may be eligible at 50+ miles from the contracted campus
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
