Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float Pool position requiring MA licensure and Level I trauma experience.

Details

• Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units within a 600-bed facility
• Specialties include neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN, GU, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant (liver, kidney, vascular)
• Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RTs manage ventilators while RNs administer nebulizers
• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, with some weeks including a mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required across assigned med/surg units, sometimes with as little as 2 hours notice
• No set schedule provided, though RTO is honored
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 3+ years of related RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate web-based applications required

Additional Information

• Assignment includes weekly orientation every Monday, barring holidays
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Must pass Tele/ECG and Medication competency testing
• Required vaccinations include COVID (plus booster) and Flu, with medical exemptions allowed
• Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any BILH facility
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Public transportation is available; daily parking can cost up to $43 if working day shifts
