Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry float pool position requiring an active MA license and Level I trauma experience.

Details

• Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units in a 600-bed facility
• Units specialize in neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN, GU, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant (liver, kidney, vascular)
• Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RTs manage ventilators while RNs administer nebulizers
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, occasionally combined with 8-hour shifts within a 4-week schedule
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required, with assignments to different units within a 2-3 week period
• Schedules can be provided as little as 2 hours before shift start
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of related RN experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area experience preferred
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications required
• Flu vaccination documentation required during flu season

Additional Information

• Assigned to the medical-surgical float pool supporting multiple specialty units
• Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Public transportation available; on-site parking may cost up to $43 per day
• COVID-19 vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
• Pass/fail Tele/ECG and medication testing required for Milton and Plymouth campus assignments
• No more than 3 days of RTO approved, and no holiday RTO will be granted
• Local candidates not accepted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Previous employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility
• No separation period required for current travelers submitting to open BILH orders during winter staffing needs
