Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor nurse position available in a large hospital setting. The role involves providing comprehensive care to medical-surgical patients, including those with surgical oncology needs, within a 47-bed department. The position requires collaboration with inter-professional colleagues, utilizing electronic medical records, and practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise in a Level 1 trauma center. The assignment is scheduled to start on 10/26/2026 and conclude on 01/25/2027, with shifts consisting of 12 hours days on every other weekend and holiday.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday; minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active AHA BLS certification; minimum 2 years recent medical-surgical experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds, working in a level 2 or higher trauma center; at least 2 years of medical-surgical experience; active ND or compact RN license; Epic electronic medical record system experience; recent experience with surgical oncology patients preferred but not required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with surgical oncology patients.
  • Float: Float to other med-surg units on any campus may be required.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must badge in and out at the facility, wear navy blue scrubs, and have current licensure. Local travel rate applies for those residing within 80 miles of the facility, with rates reduced by $8/hour for those living 60 to 80 miles away. Successful candidates will demonstrate competency within a full scope of nursing practice and utilize age and population-specific standards in patient care.
