Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Position in Fargo. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care within a fast-paced hospital setting, with the flexibility to float across multiple units including oncology, trauma, cardiac, neuro, and more. The position requires a minimum of one year of recent Med Surg experience, with an emphasis on rapid assessment and diverse clinical procedures to meet department standards.

Job Details:

  • Location: Fargo, ND
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Active North Dakota Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state license, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, minimum of 1 year recent Med Surg experience in a large hospital (200+ beds), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, and PEARS or ENPC qualification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Float pool experience, trauma center experience, working within a level 2 or higher trauma facility, experience in a hospital with 250+ beds, and resource pool/float experience.
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Must badge in and out at the facility.
    • Scrubs are navy blue.
    • Float rotation may be required across multiple units including med-surg overflow and critical care units.
    • Experience with Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, Philips vitals machines, and EPIC EMR is essential.
    • Training includes one full shift on a Broadway med-surg unit and one on SMCF med-surg unit, along with campus tours and team expectations during the first week.
    • The patient census ranges from 24 to 47 beds with nurse to patient ratios of 1:4-5 during day shift and 1:5-6 during night shift.
    • The position is scheduled to start on 10/12/2026 and end on 01/11/2027; the resource is willing to wait for submission of license.
