Job Summary
Neurology-focused Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position located within a large healthcare facility. This role involves providing patient care on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit with a neuro specialty, requiring flexibility to float across various units within the facility. Candidates must be able to work 12-hour day shifts on weekends only and adhere to unit standards, including badge-in/out protocols and scrub color.
Job Details
- Shift: 12-hour days, weekends only
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, with start date of 10/12/2026 and end date of 01/11/2027
- Required Qualifications:
- Active ND (North Dakota) or Compact RN (Registered Nurse) license (willing to obtain if not currently held)
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in a large hospital setting (200+ beds)
- Experience with neuro patients preferred but not required
- Experience working with Epic electronic medical record system
- Knowledge of Omnicell medication management and Alaris IV pumps
- Willingness to float to all units/departments within the facility as needed
- Strong MS (Medical-Surgical) experience and neuro care knowledge preferred
- Level 1 trauma experience is a plus
- General nursing duties include assessments, documentation, medication administration, and completing nursing tasks
- Must have proven success with travel assignments or experience in a large hospital environment
- Must badge in/out at the facility and wear navy blue scrubs
- No specific minimum experience years required beyond 2 years listed for the role
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Neuro patient experience
- Recent med-surg nursing in a facility with 250+ beds
- Experience working in multiple units/departments within a hospital setting
Additional Information
- The primary unit is 6AB, but flexibility to float to any med-surg unit at multiple hospital campuses is required
- Bed size of the unit is 32 beds
- Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1 on day shift, 6:1 on night shift
- Must comply with facility badge-in/out procedures, and be able to work in a navy blue scrubs uniform
- Travel experience and successful completion of travel assignments are highly valued
- Local travel within 80 miles is permitted; travelers within 60 miles are not eligible
- For candidates who have previously worked with the organization, they must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission date
