Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a high-acuity Level 1 trauma surgical unit requiring a minimum of 2 years specialty experience and EPIC proficiency.
Details
- High-acuity Surgical Trauma unit within a Level 1 trauma center
- Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
- Patient ratio of 5:1
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- No block scheduling available; must be willing to work given shifts
- Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Unit supported by Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and night unit secretary
- Nurse handoff completed between ED nurse and admitting unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Experience in high-volume, high-acuity trauma hospital settings required
- Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
Additional Information
- Work within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
- Requires proven success managing critical, fast-paced trauma situations
- No RTO permitted during the contract
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
