Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a high-acuity surgical trauma unit requiring prior Level 1 trauma or high-volume hospital experience.

Details

• High-acuity Surgery Trauma floor at a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Unit supported by Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and night unit secretary
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• No block scheduling; must be willing to work assigned shifts
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• EPIC EMR used
• Nurse handoff completed between ED and admitting unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments
• Experience managing critical, fast-paced situations
• Background in high-volume hospitals with diverse and severe cases
• EPIC EMR experience required

• Provide nursing care on a high-acuity surgical trauma unit within a Level 1 trauma center
• No RTO permitted during contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
