Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a high-acuity Level 1 trauma surgical unit requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• High-acuity Med/Surg floor specializing in Surgery Trauma
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretary available on nights
• Structured nurse handoff process between ED and admitting unit
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• No block scheduling; must be willing to work assigned shifts
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments
• Background in high-volume hospitals managing diverse and severe cases

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care on a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma unit handling complex and challenging cases
• No RTO permitted during contract
