Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-acuity Med/Surg Surgery Trauma unit requiring prior specialty experience and GA or compact RN license.

Details

Night shift position, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
High acuity Surgery Trauma floor within a Level 1 trauma center
Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
Patient ratio of 5:1
Unit supported by Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and night unit secretary
ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff process
EPIC EMR experience required
No on-call responsibilities
No block scheduling available; must work assigned shifts
Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Requirements

Active GA or compact RN license
BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg or trauma specialty required
Experience in high-pressure, high-volume trauma environments required
Background managing critical, fast-paced, large-scale trauma cases required

Additional Information

Provide nursing care for high-acuity surgical and trauma patients
Work within a Level 1 trauma center handling complex, high-volume cases
No RTO permitted during contract
Mandatory holiday coverage: either Thanksgiving Day or the day after, plus either Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
