Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring documented tele experience and Level 1 trauma center background.

Details

• 32-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving an adult and older adult population
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Trauma patients requiring Heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered
• Uses specialty equipment including gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment
• Epic EMR used
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling typically not approved
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Documented Med/Surg Telemetry experience required along with a matching skills checklist
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume Level 1 trauma centers required
• Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced trauma situations required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Skilled Nursing/Rehab experience and prior NICHE training are a plus

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to trauma and acute medical patients on a high-acuity unit
• No RTO permitted during the contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
