Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring an active MA license, Level I trauma experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units within a 600-bed facility
• Specialty areas include neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN, GU, hips and joints, oncology, and liver/kidney/vascular transplant
• Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RNs administer nebulizers; RT manages ventilators
• Rotating 8H and 12H day/night shifts with every other weekend and holidays required
• No set schedule provided; assignments to units occur in 2-3 week increments and may be given as little as 2 hours before shift start
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 3+ years of related RN work experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Basic computer and web-based application navigation skills required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area experience preferred
• Must pass Tele/ECG and medication competency testing

• Assigned to the medical-surgical float pool, supporting multiple specialty units as needed
• Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
• RTO requests limited to no more than 3 days and must be submitted at time of consideration
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Public transportation available; on-site parking may cost up to $43/day
• COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
• Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted
