Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for an oncology unit requiring 2+ years of current acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work on a Med/Surg Oncology unit with continuous cardiac monitoring for chemotherapy patients
  • Care for patients with soft tissue malignancies, symptom management, and comorbidities
  • Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • 12-hour rotating shifts, potentially days, nights, or a combination based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
  • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
  • Uses B450 monitors with GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, current within the last 12 months and in the specialty applying for
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required

  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide oncology nursing care with a focus on chemotherapy monitoring, symptom management, and infection prevention
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply and encouraged to come with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
  • Requested RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract, as this is a mandatory and time-sensitive requirement
