Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
• Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Floating to similar units required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong critical thinking, documentation, and time management skills
• Experience with medication administration and interdisciplinary collaboration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, care planning, medication administration, and patient education
• Delegate and validate completion of care tasks with health care technicians
• Maintain patient safety standards including fall precautions, isolation protocols, and ambulation safety
• Facilitate timely admission, discharge, and testing processes for observation patients
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers limited to 1 year of continuous assignment before requiring a 6-month break in service
