Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Telemetry position requiring vent and transplant experience at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Work across two IMC units: D6/5 Acute Med/Progressive Care and B4/3 Thoracic
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm-7:30am
  • Every other weekend required
  • Some holidays required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Telemetry, oncology, cardiac and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
  • Ventilator management and post-transplant care experience required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
  • Academic teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting with strict passing criteria (up to two attempts, third attempt requires certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course)

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry monitoring and emergency response for cardiac dysrhythmias, including use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Care for patients requiring ventilator support and post-transplant management
  • Skills such as central line care, arterial line management, chest tube care, and IV insulin protocols are valued
  • Located at a Magnet-designated, top-ranked teaching hospital and Level I/II trauma center
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Prior travel experience required
