Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care/Telemetry unit requiring cardiac telemetry experience and a passing score on a telemetry exam prior to start.

Details

• Work in the IMC (Intermediate Care/Stepdown) unit at a teaching hospital
• Cardiac telemetry patient population with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Uses Epic for charting
• 12-hour day shifts (7:00am-7:30pm), Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required
• 4x12 shift schedules also accepted
• Some holiday coverage required
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in cardiac telemetry or PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, and blood product administration required
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
• Experience with insulin drip titration and heparin protocols required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and nursing care to cardiac and stepdown patients
• Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Preference given to candidates with at least 3 years of experience in a core staff position prior to travel nursing
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
