Description

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care Float RN with multi-ICU experience and Trauma Level I background for a night shift assignment requiring WI or compact RN license.

Details

  • Critical Care Float unit covering multiple ICU populations including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery
  • Also supports IMC/Progressive and general care patient populations
  • Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 1900-0730
  • Every other weekend required, along with some holidays
  • Floating required as needed across ICU units
  • Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted
  • 5 years of experience preferred
  • Academic Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict adult and pediatric passing criteria prior to starting
  • Skills in IV therapy, arterial/central/PICC line management, ventilator management, and cardiac drip titration required
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post neurosurgical care beneficial
  • Charge experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Work within a Magnet-designated academic medical center recognized as a leading teaching and referral hospital
  • Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including cardiovascular, neuro, trauma, and burn units
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
  • Telemetry exam allows up to two attempts, with a third attempt possible only after completing a cardiac interpretation review course
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
