Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a Texas or compact license for a Medical-Surgical ICU role requiring 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Medical-Surgical ICU of a hospital setting
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration required
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT) required
  • Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and management of acute/chronic renal failure required
  • Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation required
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias required
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols required
  • Preferred experience includes ECMO, IABP, TAVR, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-cardiac or neurosurgical care
  • Preferred experience in teaching, community, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II hospital settings

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex, multisystem needs
  • Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for this contract
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • First-time travelers may not be considered due to the travel experience requirement
