Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma ICU requiring prior travel experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Level I Trauma ICU setting with 14 rooms and 16 beds
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Float requirement to ICU, IMC, and Tele units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with central line care/management, IV therapy, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• ICP monitoring experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Trauma ICU environment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted as locals
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none permitted during the first week of orientation
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
