Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II trauma center requiring 2+ years of RN experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

  • 101-bed Emergency Department in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with over 100,000 annual visits
  • Typical patient ratio of 4:1, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Techs available for cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerk support days and nights
  • Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors for patient care
  • Charting completed in Cerner
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend required; block scheduling not available and must meet department needs
  • No floating outside the ED, but must be flexible to float to all sections within the ED

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact)
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
  • Previous HCA experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give real-time feedback
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
  • One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO)
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

  • Deliver emergency care across a wide range of medical and behavioral health patients
  • Support a multicultural community representing over 120 languages
  • Known for a strong teamwork culture and welcoming team environment
  • Follow AIDET and patient experience standards, including regular patient updates and communication boards
  • Required uniform is navy scrubs
  • Attendance policy provided on first day of assignment
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • First-time travelers may be considered
