Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Emergency Department position requiring Level II trauma center experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

  • Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and high-volume ED with over 100,000 annual visits
  • 101-bed emergency department
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Support staff includes cardiac monitoring techs, internal processing techs, triage staff, and unit clerks
  • Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
  • Documents patient care using Cerner
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend required, block scheduling not available
  • No floating outside the ED, but flexibility required to float to all ED sections

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact)
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start date
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED experience preferred
  • Previous HCA experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills with ability to coach and give real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

  • Provide emergency care to a diverse patient population representing over 120 languages in the surrounding community
  • Deliver consistent patient experience using AIDET standards, respectful communication, and updated patient boards
  • Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
  • Attendance policy provided on first day
  • Known for a strong teamwork culture and welcoming team environment
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
