Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-volume, Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke center requiring TNCC and CPI certifications.

Details

  • Emergency Care Center with 101 beds
  • Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Support staff includes techs in cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas, triage, and unit clerks
  • Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
  • Documentation completed in Cerner
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend required, block scheduling not available
  • No floating outside the ED, but must be open to floating to all ED sections

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact)
  • Certifications required before start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • At least 1 year of recent ER experience required
  • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
  • Previous HCA experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

  • Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
  • Attendance policy provided on first day
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
