Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac ICU skills, ACLS/BLS certification, and Epic experience.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:1-2
• 13-week assignment with Day (7:00-19:30) and Night (19:00-7:30) 3x12 rotating shifts
• 36 hours per week on a rotating day/night schedule
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required, up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Sat/Sun for day shift, Fri/Sat for night shift)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pump management, and PA lines
• Additional cardiovascular skills include CABG, TAVR, IABP, Impella, VAD, ECMO, and post cardiac surgery care
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and management of dysrhythmias
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to critically ill cardiovascular patients including pre/post cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response as needed
• Support ECMO and nurse-driven ECMO protocols where applicable
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel positions at any of its Ohio hospital locations
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing due to strict compliance timelines
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
