Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of cardiac ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30, 36 hours per week
• Patient ratios approximately 1:1-2
• Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, Friday/Saturday for night shift
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz catheter, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pump, PA lines
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills required
• Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct care for post-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization/intervention patients
• Support for TAVR, CABG, valve repair/replacement, and VAD patients
• Care for patients on ECMO and nurse-driven ECMO protocols where applicable
• Assist with CRRT/CVVHD for renal management as needed
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignment
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate
• Mandatory Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed promptly after contract signing
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
