Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring compact/OH RN license, Epic experience, and cardiac ICU skills.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting in a teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Weekdays with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday for night shift)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Estimated patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, and intra-aortic balloon pump management
• Additional cardiovascular skills include CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, LVAD/RVAD, and sheath removal care
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of dysrhythmias
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery or cardiac catheterization
• Support nurse-driven protocols for ECMO and IABP management when applicable
• Participate in emergency response and interpretation/management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Fingerprinting must be completed promptly after contract signing due to Ohio state requirements
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible to return as travelers after a 6-month separation from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital system are ineligible for travel assignments
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
