Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact license and prior high-acuity cardiac critical care experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a hospital setting
• Patient population consists of 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure patients, including open heart recovery, heart transplant, LVAD, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT cases
• Utilizes Swan Ganz catheters and CCO monitoring for advanced cardiac device therapy management
• EMR system used is Cerner/COMPASS
• May float to MICU, SICU, or Medical/Cardiac Stepdown units as needed
• Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Preferred experience managing advanced cardiac devices including IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheters
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Full Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two separate professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity cardiovascular critical care environment
• Implement and evaluate individualized care plans, adjusting treatment to optimize patient safety and recovery
• Administer physician and nursing orders in compliance with regulatory and quality standards
• Lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Navy scrub color required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced pay rate depending on distance from the facility
