Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring TX or compact licensure and at least 1 year of relevant critical care experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU
• Patient population is 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure
• Cares for high-risk cardiac surgery patients including open heart recovery, heart transplant, and LVAD implant cases
• Manages advanced devices including ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and Swan-Ganz/CCO monitoring
• Uses Cerner/COMPASS EMR system
• Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15
• May float to MICU, SICU, or Medical/Cardiac Stepdown units as needed
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Preferred experience with cardiac advanced device therapy management, including at minimum IABP, Impella, or Swan-Ganz management
• License and Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required

• Implement and monitor individualized care plans, adjusting treatment to optimize patient safety and recovery
• Administer physician and nursing orders promptly while supporting quality improvement initiatives
• Lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted, subject to a radius rule that may affect pay rate
