Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU
• Patient population is 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure
• Cares for high-risk cardiac surgery patients including open heart recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Uses Swan Ganz catheters and CCO monitoring equipment
• Uses Cerner/COMPASS EMR system
• Shift schedule is 06:45-19:15
• 13-week assignment
• May be required to float to MICU, SICU, or Medical/Cardiac Stepdown units as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• Preferred experience with cardiac advanced device therapy management including IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz management
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

• Deliver direct patient care ensuring safe, evidence-based interventions aligned with clinical standards
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, adjusting treatment to optimize outcomes
• Administer physician and nursing orders promptly while maintaining regulatory compliance
• Lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from facility
