Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring cardiac experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work on a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit within a stepdown intermediate care setting
  • Care for patients with cardiac conditions such as chest pain, CHF, advanced heart failure, and syncope
  • Support patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization
  • Assist with procedures including Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
  • Unit may overflow to general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed
  • Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Primary floating assignment to one of five acute care med/surg units typically staffed at 5:1 ratios

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required (AHA)
  • ACLS certification required (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required depending on unit needs
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Prior cardiac telemetry experience strongly preferred
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for a cardiac telemetry population while helping stabilize unit staffing
  • Opportunity to precept and support newly hired staff, including RN residents, as the unit rebuilds its core team
  • Candidates who demonstrate strong engagement and willingness to train others are preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required
  • Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a reduced rate under facility radius rules
  • Radius rule distance varies by state; contact for specific local rate details
  • Travelers are encouraged to discuss extension opportunities with their manager at least 45 days before assignment end date
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
