We are seeking an experienced ASC 606 Accounting Consultant to develop a comprehensive, searchable reference guide of previously completed revenue recognition analyses and accounting conclusions. This individual will review existing contract documentation and technical accounting assessments, identify recurring fact patterns, and organize prior conclusions into a practical resource that helps accounting teams efficiently locate relevant precedents when evaluating newly executed contracts.

The role will also explore opportunities to leverage AI-enabled search and summarization tools to improve information retrieval and accessibility. The reference guide will serve as a resource to support accounting teams and professional judgment, rather than replace independent technical accounting assessments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review existing ASC 606 analyses, contract documentation, and accounting conclusions to identify recurring fact patterns and key accounting considerations.

    • Develop a consistent framework for categorizing, summarizing, and organizing prior accounting conclusions, including supporting rationale and source documentation.

    • Build a user-friendly, searchable reference guide that allows teams to quickly locate relevant precedent analyses.

    • Evaluate opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled search and summarization capabilities to improve research and information retrieval.

    • Partner with accounting and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the reference guide is accurate, practical, and easy to navigate.

    • Validate the completed resource with end users and incorporate feedback as needed.

    • Document maintenance procedures and recommend a process for incorporating future accounting conclusions.

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience organizing complex information into clear, structured, and user-friendly reference materials or tools.

    • Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and the ability to interpret technical accounting analyses.

    • Experience using AI tools in a professional setting, with an understanding of the importance of validating AI-generated information against original source documentation.

    • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.

    • Ability to independently manage projects, organize large volumes of information, and collaborate with key stakeholders.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Technical Skills

    • ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract analysis.

    • Information organization, categorization, tagging, and searchable knowledge-base development.

    • AI-assisted research, search, and information retrieval tools.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and other document management tools.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting biotechnology or pharmaceutical organizations.

    • Background developing internal accounting guidance, precedent libraries, or knowledge-management resources.

    • Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms and responsible handling of confidential financial and contractual information.
