The Senior Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Chair, and Senior Department Administrator II. Under the direction of the Department Chair and Senior Department Administrator II, the Senior Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining the calendar of the department and Chair, maintaining accurate curriculum vitaes, website management, and coordinating and participating in federal grant preparation and reports for federal grant projects and grant applications submitted by the Chair or on behalf of the department. The incumbent also supports various faculty affairs functions including coordinating travel, seminars and group meetings, Personnel and Honors matters and faculty recruitment

High School Diploma or equivalent
Three years of administrative secretarial experience

Ability to interact effectively and courteously with individuals of varied cultures and levels both inside and outside the University

Ability to establish work assignment priorities and perform duties without immediate or constant supervision
Ability to work independently or as part of a group
Working knowledge of various word processing, spreadsheet, and various standardized software and university applications
Ability to use Interfolio to process P&H committee documents
Ability to perform the essential duties of the job required, including the ability to make campus deliveries and to lift light packages.
