Purchasing Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Jacksonville, FL area. Our client is seeking a Purchasing professional to manage buying and materials for fabrication and projects.

Position Responsibilities:

- Purchase steel, materials, and supplies

- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors

- Ensure materials arrive on time for production

- Maintain vendor relationships

- Support shop administration and cost control

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Review bills of material and project needs

- Issue and track purchase orders

- Coordinate deliveries and logistics

- Resolve vendor and shipping issues

- Maintain purchasing and shop records

Position Skills:

- 1-2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in steel or manufacturing

- Knowledge of steel shapes, plate, and materials a plus

- Strong negotiation skills

- ERP software and Microsoft Office experience

- Strong organization and attention to detail

Benefits:
