    Description

    Project Manager

    Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain an Active Secret Clearance to be considered due to the nature of the work. - Must be US Citizen 

    Location: Must be within 100 miles of Lexington, MA - This position is Hybrid, with a minimum of 80% onsite presence required. Candidates may be asked to come onsite 5 days a week to support the mission as needed.

    About the Role:

    Aquila Technology is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its team in support of one of the nation’s premier defense research organizations. The team is in search of a thorough, detail-oriented individual, with exceptional organizational skills to manage our organizations spaces and support in organizational and field-based data collection efforts. This position spans organizational space management, hands-on experimental support, fielding execution, and group operations/facilities support. A successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple environments and will be equally proficient coordinating logistics for an in-house data collection as they are traveling to support a field deployment.

    Organizations Space Management

    • Maintain and operate the Computer-Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) system and other MIT LL STRIVE Center equipment including motion capture (Vicon), EMG (Delsys), IMU (Delsys, Xsens), metabolic cost (Cosmed), and projection (Scalable) systems
    • Maintain oversight of laboratory spaces owned and managed by Group 24
    • Ensure all  spaces remain compliant with EHS safety standards, are well organized, and are ready for daily operations and organizational tours
    • Maintain equipment inventories, coordinate preventative maintenance, and train staff on the proper use of organizations equipment and systems
    • Interface with research principal investigators, program managers, technical staff, and equipment manufacturers/vendors as needed to support organizations operations

    Organizations Data Collection Support

    • Support experimental design and provide input on hardware system selection, integration, and testing
    • Execute organizational data collections with high accuracy, adhering to project timelines and technical specifications
    • Perform initial data processing, ensuring collected data is present, organized, and cleaned for hand-off to the broader project team
    • Standardize and streamline data collection procedures to minimize setup errors and improve overall data quality

    Must Have minimum of 5 years of experience with the following skills/technologies:

    • Experience executing data collections in a laboratory or field setting
    • Program/Project Management OR Analysis
    • Experience supporting field deployments, including coordination with external parties and travel
    • Organization Support Functions
    • Maintain equipment with complex hardware/software systems (i.e. CAREN)
    • Operating a CAREN system

    Nice to Have

    • Managing facility security and safety protocols
    • Organizational management (human subjects research)
    • Experience integrating measurement hardware into existing testing environments

    Fielding Support & Execution

    • Support planning for field data collections, including logistics, scheduling, and equipment staging
    • Interface with external parties and collaborators to coordinate fielding activities
    • Execute field data collections, including travel to field sites as required to support successful data capture and system testing

    Team Operations & Facilities Support

    • Support the teams facilities changes and organizational space renovations, including planning, coordination, and execution
    • Assist with resource allocation and timeline management for facilities-related projects to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget
    • Provide general operational support to the team/division as needed

    Required Skills:

    • Previous experience managing or supporting org operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory tracking, and safety/compliance oversight
    • Demonstrated experience executing data collections in a org or field setting, including experimental setup, hardware integration, and initial data processing
    • Experience supporting field deployments, including coordination with external parties and travel to field sites
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities across lab operations, data collection, and facilities support
    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to maintain equipment involving complex hardware/software systems
    • At least five years of experience operating a CAREN System

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience integrating measurement hardware (e.g., motion capture, EMG, IMU, physiological monitoring systems) into existing testing environments
    • Familiarity with EHS safety standards and lab compliance requirements
    • Prior experience coordinating facilities projects or lab space renovations
    • Existing relationships with relevant equipment vendors and manufacturers
    • Demonstrated track record of org management in a human-subjects research environment

    Tuition & Training Reimbursement- 5K annually for pre-approved, Eligible full-time team members who have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment may apply for tuition reimbursement for approved, job-related courses taken through an accredited college or university. Team members must achieve a grade of “B” or better to qualify for reimbursement.Aquila will reimburse up to $5,000 per fiscal year for tuition expenses only. Expenses related to training programs, certifications, books, materials, meals, transportation, or other non-tuition costs are not eligible under the Tuition Reimbursement Program. All tuition reimbursement requests must be submitted to and approved by the team member’s Manager prior to course registration. Reimbursement will be issued upon successful course completion and submission of final grades and proof of payment.

    401K with Principal - Eligible to participate day 1 of employment. Company match on employee contributions:

    • Eligibility on date of hire
    • Employer Match- 100% of first 3% and 50% of next 2%
    • Vesting- 100%
    • Contribution limit- $24,500
    • Catch-up contribution limit- $8,000
    • Catch-up contribution limit for ages 60-63 in calendar year- $11,250
    • Catchup contributions must be directed to Roth bucket if earned over
    $150k in 2025

    Cell Phone & Internet Reimbursed up to $150 monthly to cover cell phone, data, and home internet expenses. Aquila Technology will reimburse team members who work from home ONLY for cell phone/mobile device fees for work-related communications and/or operations each month. Employees eligible for this benefit must work remote 2 days a week or more to qualify.

    Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) - Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.

    Work Location/On-site Requirement:This position is Hybrid, with a minimum of 80% onsite presence required. Candidates may be asked to come onsite 5 days a week to support programs as needed.

    Travel Requirement:Candidates would be required to support in-field data collections, including travel to the field sites. Field site travel will be domestic.

    Interview Process:1st round interview will be a Zoom with the hiring manager. 2nd round interview will be a Zoom with additional team members as needed.

    Clearance Level:An interim clearance is sufficient for the start of this position. - Must be US Citizen
