Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Administrator


Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, On-Site
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience

We are a growing organization seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Administrator to take ownership of multi-state payroll, benefits administration, compliance, reporting, and HR systems. This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with Human Resources, Accounting, leadership, employees, and benefit vendors. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and analytical payroll professional who can work independently, solve complex issues, navigate regulatory requirements, and improve payroll and benefits processes.



Position Overview:


We are seeking a hands-on Payroll & Benefits Administrator to manage multi-state payroll, benefits administration, compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and system integrity. This role will serve as a key internal resource for payroll and benefits questions, audits, reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ADP Workforce Now, advanced Excel, multi-state payroll, benefits administration, and payroll compliance. This individual should be comfortable researching complex issues, exercising sound judgment, and resolving escalated payroll and benefits discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities (Payroll & Benefits Administrator):



  • Manage multi-state payroll processing, including garnishments, deductions, bonuses, commissions, retroactive pay, executive compensation, and multi-state taxation

  • Research and interpret federal, state, and local payroll regulations and implement necessary changes to policies, procedures, and system configurations

  • Conduct payroll and benefits audits, reconciliations, and quality-control reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity

  • Manage timekeeping, payroll tax notices, registrations, 401(k) contributions, year-end W-2 processing, and related payroll compliance requirements

  • Maintain employee payroll and benefits information within ADP, UKG, and carrier systems




Qualifications (Payroll & Benefits Administrator):



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll and benefits experience preferred

  • Strong Excel skills
