    MULTI-UNIT GENERAL MANAGER


    Location: Brooklyn, NYC

    Reports To: Operations Manager

    Compensation: $100,000-$120,000

    Status: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt


    Position Summary

    Seeking a Multi-Unit General Manager to lead the daily operation of two coffee-focused locations. This role oversees all front and back of house functions across both cafés, drives quality and consistency of the coffee program from unit to unit, develops and retains strong hourly and supervisory teams, and owns the combined financial performance of the portfolio.     Key Responsibilities


    Multi-Unit Operations

    • Oversee daily operations at both locations including opening and closing procedures, staffing, inventory, and facility upkeep
    • Establish and maintain consistent standards, systems, and procedures across both units
    • Build a regular presence at each location through a structured visit and floor coverage cadence
    • Maintain equipment standards including espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and water filtration, coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs across both sites
    • Ensure full compliance with health department, food safety, and local regulatory requirements at each unit
    • Manage vendor relationships including green and roasted coffee, dairy and alternative milks, bakery, and paper goods, consolidating purchasing where possible


    Coffee Program and Quality

    • Uphold beverage quality standards across espresso, batch brew, and manual brew methods at both locations
    • Lead daily dial-in, calibration, and quality control routines, ensuring the same cup quality unit to unit
    • Partner with [roasting team / roasting partner] on offerings, seasonal menu changes, and single origin rotations
    • Develop and deliver a unified barista training and certification program across the portfolio


    Team Leadership

    • Recruit, hire, onboard, and oversee scheduling for all hourly and supervisory staff across both locations
    • Directly manage and develop the on-site leadership team, including [Café Managers / Assistant Managers / Shift Leads]
    • Build bench strength and a promotion pipeline that supports future growth
    • Conduct performance reviews, manage progressive discipline, and maintain accurate documentation
    • Foster a positive, accountable culture with low turnover and high internal mobility


    Financial Performance

    • Own the P&L for both locations, including revenue, COGS, labor, and controllable expenses
    • Manage labor to budgeted targets at each unit while protecting service standards
    • Oversee inventory counts, waste tracking, and ordering accuracy across both sites
    • Analyze sales trends and daypart performance by location to identify growth opportunities
    • Report on unit-level and combined performance to ownership on a [weekly / monthly] basis


    Guest Experience

    • Maintain hospitality standards across every touchpoint from order to handoff at both cafés
    • Respond to guest feedback and resolve issues in real time
    • Support local marketing, community events, and wholesale or catering relationships as applicable


    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of management experience in specialty coffee, café, or fast-casual hospitality, with multi-unit or area management experience strongly preferred
    • Demonstrated P&L ownership with proven results in labor and cost control
    • Track record of building and developing on-site managers who operate independently
    • Strong working knowledge of espresso extraction, brewing ratios, and quality standards
    • Experience hiring, training, and developing hourly teams at scale
    • Proficiency with POS and scheduling systems [e.g., Square, Toast, 7shifts]
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations daily
    • SCA certification a plus


    Physical Requirements

    Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, travel between locations, and work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
