Job Summary
The Michigan Engineering Zone (MEZ) is seeking an organized, dependable, and welcoming part-time Administrative Support Assistant to support the daily operations of our youth STEM programs.
This position provides administrative and front-facing support to students, families, staff, and community partners. Responsibilities include maintaining program records, responding to phone and in-person inquiries, tracking participation and documentation, supporting program spaces and materials, and assisting with events. The role is designed to strengthen day-to-day operations so program staff can focus more of their time on supporting students.

The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
Work Schedule
This is a temporary, part-time position, running through June 2027. Applicants should expect to work 10?20 hours/week. The role is hybrid, with approximately half of the work performed on-site at the Michigan Engineering Zone in Detroit, Michigan.
Regular on-site hours are expected Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-7:00 p.m. from September - December, and then Mondays and Wednesday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. from January - April. Additional remote work hours are scheduled primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with some flexibility. Occasional additional hours may be needed to support special events.

Compensation for this position is $16-20/hour, depending on experience.
