QUALIFICATIONS 1. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Washington 2. Current First Aid certificate preferred 3. Experience working with children and the community preferred 4. Must favorably pass the Washington State Patrol and FBI background check 8. Experience andor training working with students having severe disabilities preferred PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assess the physical mental and environmental health of students. Identify needs as related to the educational environment and cultural background in accordance with state and local mandates. 2. Assists with tasks involved in vision hearing and other health screenings as required and in accordance with the Washington State Codes. 3. Administration of prescribed medications and treatments to students under the training of the District Registered Nurse. These include but are not limited to tube feeding suctioning catheterization and diabetic care. 4. Ability to maintain and treat school information confidentially following HIPPA and FERPA laws. 5. Maintain health records dietallergy healthcare plans504s prepare reports necessary to carry out activities of the school health program assist in maintaining all student immunization information records. 6. Communicate with parents staff and Licensed Health Care Providers. 7. Provide nursing services for ill medically fragile and injured students.
