HR People Consultant (PT - Independent Contractor)

SUMMARY
We're looking for a seasoned HR People Consultant to join our team on a part-time, project basis. You'll partner with client leaders to make sure their people practices serve both the organization and its employees. Our work spans fractional and interim HR, recruiting, project-based HR services, performance management, training, and organizational development and design. 


WHAT YOU'LL DO
Depending on the client engagement, your work may include:

• Advising client leadership on HR policies and procedures
• Assessing current HR programs and recommending practical solutions
• Developing, revising, and implementing HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
• Conducting HR audits to identify compliance gaps and areas for improvement
• Helping clients align their HR practices with state and federal employment laws
• Gathering and analyzing data to inform recommendations and project reports
• Preparing clear, client-ready reports and deliverables
• Helping clients plan and carry out changes to workflows and processes
• Designing and delivering training on HR topics

WHO YOU ARE
You're an experienced HR professional who enjoys variety and thrives on solving problems. You can walk into a new client situation, quickly understand how it works, and earn leaders' trust. You give practical advice that fits the client's size, culture, and resources, and you're comfortable managing your own projects from start to finish.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of HR experience in a corporate or consulting setting
• Broad experience across HR, including recruiting and retention, culture development, learning and development, benefits and compensation, and coaching employees and leaders
• Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal oversight

Preferred:

• Consultant located in Central Ohio preferred
• SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification
• Experience with small businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and/or public sector clients
• Consulting, fractional, or interim HR experience
