Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Fractional CFO/Systems SME in Washington, DC. Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate existing Finance and Accounting workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical process improvements
Review recurring tasks and responsibilities to identify opportunities for streamlining, standardization, and improved efficiency
Research tools, technologies, and process options; gather business requirements and develop actionable recommendations
Support finance systems and workflow initiatives, including processes connected to Ramp and budgeting/procurement tools
Help bridge Finance and Accounting with fundraising, data, and technology stakeholders to improve alignment and information flow
Investigate less-frequent or complex accounting processes and provide research and recommendations, including topics relevant to nonprofit organizations where applicable
Translate strategic goals into tactical next steps and support implementation or adoption of agreed-upon improvements
Document findings, requirements, process gaps, and recommendations for relevant stakeholders

Requirements:

Finance & Accounting process knowledge - Understands core accounting workflows and how finance teams operate, including recurring processes, reporting, and operational responsibilities
Process improvement experience - Has evaluated existing workflows, identified inefficiencies, and recommended or implemented practical improvements
Systems and technology aptitude - Can assess how systems are being used, identify gaps, gather business requirements, and recommend technology or process adjustments; The client specifically mentioned needing a -lightweight systems architect-
Strong analytical and research skills - Can independently investigate unfamiliar issues, research potential solutions, and provide actionable recommendations without needing extensive direction
Strategic and tactical ability - Understands the broader business objectives but is also willing to get into the details and help execute the necessary changes
Ability to work independently in an evolving environment - Comfortable with an engagement where the scope is still developing and able to identify opportunities and create structure proactively

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
