We are a growing family law and estate planning firm in need of a reliable and self-motivated paralegal. The individual will work directly with our attorneys, performing a variety of complex legal and administrative support duties. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, capable of working with limited supervision and committed to helping us meet all our clients’ needs.
 
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES


  • Maintains and organizes physical and electronic client files
  • Prepares, reviews, and edits legal correspondence and standard legal documents
  • Files legal documents with the courts and other agencies as required
  • Manages attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, deadlines, and court dates
  • Assists in coordinating discovery, including calendaring and document preparation
  • Conducts basic legal research and gathers relevant case information
  • Communicates professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Reviews and distributes incoming mail; screens telephone calls for attorneys
  • Greets clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Provides general administrative support to attorneys and staff as needed
     
     
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
 


  • Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Experience: One to two years of full-time experience as a legal assistant, preferably in family law or estate planning
  • Knowledge of general office practices and legal terminology
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, ProDoc, and E-filing systems preferred
     
     
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
 


  • Experience in family law and/or estate planning
  • Familiarity with court filing procedures and local rules
     
     
Compensation starting at $24/hr
