BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - INDUSTRIAL

Position Summary

WIELAND's Business Development Managers are relationship-oriented professionals who identify and build new client partnerships while maintaining existing ones, and boost WIELAND's presence in key markets. They should be focused and driven to find projects within WIELAND's core market sectors and geographic regions. This role places a strong emphasis on cultivating relationships within local industrial markets to support continued business growth.

Job Functions

  • Manage an opportunity pipeline of 12-20 industrial projects at any given time.
  • Make timely entries into WIELAND's CRM software to document contact and progress.
  • Close 2-3 sales in the industrial sector per year with preferred volume of $10 - $25M.
  • Manage an opportunity list of $200M-$250M at any given time.
  • Assist and collaborate with the marketing team to assemble project proposals.
  • Attend networking and community events to facilitate good community relations in the local industrial sector or otherwise.
  • Assist and support the Operations and Marketing team in identifying and securing trade partner interest for project proposals.
  • Perform market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends or sector growth opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust network of architects, engineers and developers to maintain awareness of upcoming projects.
  • Maintain regular and consistent contact with current trade partners and build relationships with new partners in existing and upcoming areas of work.
  • Proactively identify and qualify leads through networking, cold-calling and attendance at industry events.
  • Strive to deepen construction/industry knowledge to truly speak the language of the clients and anticipate their unique challenges.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in marketing, business, or similar role.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with construction preferred.
