The Performing and Fine Arts (PFA) Department of the College of Arts and Sciences is looking for a Student Assistant to support the PFA Academic Coordinator and general day-to-day assistance for the PFA Department. We are seeking a motivated individual who can self-start, follow through on assigned tasks, and has a high degree of comfort interacting with others. The Office Assistant is expected to identify, initiate, and complete a variety of tasks and projects in a role that primarily serves the PFA Department and the Academic Coordinator.
Shifts for this position are at least 3 hours long, Monday-Friday, and have a degree of flexibility.
Core Duties
- Clerical: Assist PFA Academic Coordinator & faculty with a variety of clerical tasks, including distribution of office supplies, receiving and distributing campus mail, collection of PFA faculty syllabi, and more duties as assigned.
- Marketing: Experience with Canva preferred. Assistant will update departmental websites, create and distribute PFA Weekly Newsletters to students and faculty, coordinate physical mailings of promotional materials to local high schools, and more duties as assigned.
- Events: Assist with PFA events such as Music at Midweek, Theater performances, Buckley Center Gallery showings, etc. Assistance looks different for each event, but involve coordination with Events to put up posters around campus, delivering print jobs, attendance at events as a proxy to the Academic Coordinator (would always be discussed ahead of time and within working hours), and more duties as assigned.
- Space Maintenance: Assist with general maintenance and organization of department spaces, including PFA Office, Mago Hunt Center, Blair Studio Theater, Buckley Center Auditorium, Buckley Center Gallery, and Shiley Marcos Art Rooms.
- Basic computer skills (Some familiarity with: Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Google, Excel).
- Other relevant duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with UP technology and systems.
- Prior clerical work experience.
- Performing and Fine Arts majors/minors preferred.
