An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Business Support Officer. The successful applicants will support the Legal, Democratic and Appeals teams with the day-to-day Business Support requirements. Predominantly the successful candidate will be supporting the Appeal team. The role is based at County Hall, Northallerton.
What you will bring…
The successful applicant must have strong keyboard skills and experience in word processing, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and the Outlook email system. Good literacy and numeracy skills are essential. The postholder must be able to prioritise their own workload effectively, demonstrating excellent organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision. In addition, the role requires the ability to work well under pressure, particularly during extremely busy periods within the team. The postholder will support the service by organising meeting schedules and preparing documentation relating to school admission appeals, transport appeals, and school exclusions. This will involve managing deadlines, coordinating meetings, and ensuring all paperwork is completed and distributed accurately and on time.
