ABOUT THE ROLEWe are searching for a Bar Manager for a Forbes luxury hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a senior F&B leadership role for a passionate hospitality professional with deep expertise in wine, spirits, and bar operations. The right candidate brings strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and a genuine commitment to delivering an attentive and distinctive guest experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead, train, coach, and develop the bar team, including supervisors and assistant managers, ensuring service and cultural standards are consistently met
- Maintain a visible, guest-facing presence on the floor, building relationships with regular guests and handling complaints, concerns, and special requests with professionalism
- Bring expert knowledge of wine and spirits to the operation, ensuring quality across all beverage items and preparation methods
- Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption
- Collaborate with the Director of F&B and culinary team on menu and wine list development
- Control labour and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management
- Monitor the physical condition of the outlet and equipment, making recommendations for improvements as needed
- Attend operational meetings to ensure strong coordination and communication across departments
WHAT YOU BRING
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a department head, or 2 to 3 years as an assistant manager in a luxury hotel F&B; environment
- Strong knowledge of beverage service, wine, spirits, cost control, labour management, and bar operations
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a high-standards luxury environment
- Experience with F&B, computer systems, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- College degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or equivalent experience preferred
- Valid US work authorization required - visa sponsorship is not available
