John Long Middle School is seeking a positive, energetic, compassionate, and dedicated full-time Office Administrative Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. Our team prides itself on collaboration and creating a welcoming school environment for our students and families.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to supporting the main office staff, this role serves as a primary support to the Principal.

Primary duties include:

  • Calendar Management: Maintain the school website calendar, facilities calendars, and the internal school calendar for staff meetings, team meetings, and field trips.
  • Digital Communication: Manage Skyward messages and coordinate the "Falcon Flyer" newsletter.
  • Records: Manage student records, including entry and exit of students.
  • Academic Support: Coordinate field trips and assist with standardized testing preparation (securing materials and printing tickets)
  • Grading & Reporting: Generate report cards at the end of quarters/semesters and run teacher report card posting reports.
  • Promotion: Assist in the preparation for student promotion ceremonies.
  • Financial Management: Oversee order management.
  • Logistics: Manage supply orders (paper, etc.) and oversee copier maintenance.
  • Forms: Organize and distribute office forms.
  • Student Health: Provide basic health room triage, administer medication, and track student immunizations.
  • Visitor Support: Assist visitors and provide general office support.
  • Summer Operations: Provide support for summer school operations.

Qualifications

  • Interpersonal Excellence: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and a genuine desire to help staff, students, and families.
  • Operational Skills: Excellent organizational and technology skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: A flexible mindset and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Experience: Prior office administration experience is considered a plus.
