The Department of Radiological Sciences is dedicated to conducting leading-edge research, providing the highest quality clinical education and delivering state-of-the-art care to our patients through the advanced diagnosis and treatment of disease through biomedical research. The department performs approximately 200,000 radiological exams per year through the utilization of all imaging modalities which include conventional radiography, angiography, ultrasonography, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine.

Your Role on the Team: Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, the administrative assistant is responsible for providing general administrative support in the Department. This includes supporting Department Administration, and Faculty; assist in the department preparation of SOU, academic support, computer/website resources area in completing paperwork, gathering information, etc. The position assists in prioritizing, efficiently processing, and tracking administrative issues to ensure deadlines are met and tasks completed appropriately for the Department.

What It Takes to be Successful: Required: Previous experience providing administrative support to senior management. Thorough understanding of office procedures. Demonstrated ability to work independently in complex working environment, adjusting priorities as needed based on assignments and understanding mission and goals of the department. Demonstrated skill in English grammar and syntax sufficient to evaluate written materials and correct errors. Working knowledge of business document formats; letters, memos, advertisements, grant applications etc. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and perform duties reliably and with thorough attention to detail. Demonstrated skill in forming and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others, i.e. effective interpersonal skills. Skill in organizing work for timely completion of assignments. Ability to independently develop innovative, logical solutions to difficult, unusual, or first-time problems and provide recommendations for action. Flexible schedule to accommodate overtime due to special projects, conferences, time differences; deadlines, etc. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience A minimum of 1 year of experience as administrative assistant 3-5 years of related work experience Special Conditions: May require travel between various offices and clinics in Orange and Irvine campuses. Requires some evening hours and/ or overtime.
