The Church History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking for an energetic, organized professional to fill the role of Administrative Assistant II.

This position provides support to directors and senior level managers in the Church History Department. Responsibilities of this position include interaction with important senior level internal and external partners.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years administrative or related experience
  • Reliability, occupational maturity, and ability to anticipate needs
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow through
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage time, resolve problems, and make decisions quickly and effectively with limited direction
  • Ability to work fast and efficiently while maintaining flexibility and a calm demeanor
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week in office
  • Technical knowledge of phones, e-mail, scheduling, databases, and websites
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn how to use work-related computer systems for booking travel, sending electronic communications, and sharing information.
  • The ability to protect sensitive and confidential information.
  • The individual may be required to have a moderate to high level of understanding of Church policies and procedures.
  • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time, moving about the office to deliver mail and other items, and using computer monitors/equipment.

This position has the responsibility of coordinating calendars, organizing large meetings, making arrangements for guest hosting, booking travel, tracking expenditures, overseeing payments, administering work-related computer systems, coordinating routine electronic communications, carrying out guided research tasks, tracking and following up on action items, operating video conferencing equipment, screening mail, ordering supplies, and updating databases.

Flexibility and the ability to prioritize changing requirements to meet urgent requests are required to be successful. Applying candidates must be able to work well under pressure, with low supervision, and complete assignments with short notice.
