Administrative Assistant – New York,NY

Local Pay: $18.00/hour

Shift Details:

  • M-F, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 35 hrs per week
Administrative Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment administration; monitor recruitment activities; maintain employment and recruitment records; respond to inquiries from applicants, employees, and hiring departments; prepare correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets. 

  • Schedule meetings; maintain confidential employee relations files; prepare correspondence and reports; organize case documentation; respond to routine inquiries; provide administrative support for day-to-day Employee Relations activities.

  • Monitor shared Human Resources email inboxes; route inquiries to the appropriate staff member; respond to routine requests; maintain tracking logs and provide general customer service support. 

  • Assist with data validation, process documentation, training coordination, testing support, and other Human Resources projects related to the implementation of CUNYWork (Workday). 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent),

  • Two (2) year minimum experience working in a professional office setting,

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and shared calendars, and virtual meeting applications including WebEx and Zoom,

  • Experience supporting day-to-day office operations, including supplies, equipment, correspondence, document management, and general administrative needs,

  • The ability to enter data into, and extract data from, electronic databases,

  • The ability to work independently and on a team with different personalities,

  • The ability to handle multiple, shifting priorities,

  • Good organizational skills, including an ability to organize information into reports,

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments,

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Additional certifications may be required.
