Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Leng)

The Post-Doctoral researcher will be responsible for carrying out computational experiments, analyzing results and data with appropriate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) methods, and have the ability to write python codes, scientific reports and manuscripts for publication, and deliver presentations at scientific meetings and/or to other interested parties. Description & Details: The Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials at North Dakota State University is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to conduct research in the interdisciplinary field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, computational chemistry, computational biology and cheminformatics to investigate properties and design advanced functional materials.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining sugarbeet research materials; phenotyping for responses to diseases, insects, and cold storage; identifying gene loci through genome-wide marker development and genetic mapping; conducting DNA subcloning, plant transformation, and functional gene characterization; and validating gene functions using both forward and reverse genetic approaches. Position Description & Details: The Department of Plant Sciences at North Dakota State University invites applications for a postdoctoral research scientist position to participate in a collaborative project on the molecular characterization of sugarbeet genes associated with reducing sugar loss.

Post Doctoral Res. Fellow (Li, Xuehui)

Research responsibilities include developing mapping populations, pathogen inoculation and phenotyping, marker development and genetic mapping, molecular cloning and construct development, plant transformation, protein-protein interaction assays, and functional validation using forward and reverse genetic approaches, including gene editing where appropriate. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in modern molecular and genetic approaches in crop or model plants, including genetic mapping, DNA sequencing, molecular cloning, protein interaction assays (e.g., yeast two-hybrid and co-immunoprecipitation), plant transformation, and gene functional analysis.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Liu/UDA)

PREFERRED: Experience in plant-microbe interactions, root/rhizosphere biology, or root symbiosis systems; familiarity with RNA-seq or other omics data analysis; molecular biology and gene-editing skills; plant tissue culture and aseptic technique; quantitative or computational modeling of biological systems; and a strong publication record with excellent communication and writing skills. The selected candidate will lead imaging-based phenotyping of root and plant-microbe interactions using confocal and other advanced microscopy together with quantitative image analysis, perform omics analysis of host responses (including RNA-seq), and generate and work with transgenic plants.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Geddes PLSC)

Focusing on plant breeding and pathology, CDC scientists deploy the latest scientific advances to improve the agronomic and end-use performances of spring wheat, durum, canary seed, barley, oat, flax, field pea, lentil, chickpea, dry bean, fababean and soybean. The College has played a pivotal role in the development of sustainable agriculture and food industries in Saskatchewan and continues its mission to advance the responsible use of land, water and bioresources to provide products and services that enhance the quality of life for the people of Saskatchewan and around the world.
